Over Christmas, I became a "somewhat" proud owner of a sewing machine. I say somewhat because my first attempt at sewing a dress has proven to be.... well actually I am not sure what I have proven. The dress does resemble a dress, which is always a good start. However, I am not too sure I would be all that keen to venture out in public with said dress on anytime soon. So it looks like it is back to the sewing machine for me to practice sewing straight and it may not be such a bad idea for me to, perhaps learn how to follow a "simple" pattern.
